Mrs Abeke Olowolafe, a 50-year-old housewife, approached an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court seeking
dissolution of her 32-year-old marriage.
Abeke is seeking the dissolution on grounds of public assault and blackmailing, telling the court that her husband, James, always disgraces her in public, calling her various unprintable names.
She said that her husband usually referred to her as a promiscuous woman dating different men.
According to her, whenever she had sex with her husband, she always had stomach disorder which usually resulted in her seeking medical attention.
She told the court that she had been responsible for the children’s upkeep and her husband had not been supportive.
After hearing from both parties, the President of the Court, Mrs Olayinka Akomolede adjourned the case to Jan. 21, 2015 for judgment
