Policeman kills Colleague in Bayelsa over N20,000 they got from 'operation'


A  policeman attached to the Bayelsa State Police Command, yesterday allegedly shot dead his colleague, following an argument over N20,000 they got from operation.

It was gathered that both policemen went on an operation where they were rewarded with N20,000. According to a family source, the deceased was of the opinion that they should make returns to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, while the other objected.

While the argument on how to share the money ensued, the enraged policeman allegedly brought out his gun and shot the police officer, who is a native of Ondewari community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa morgue.
